Tachymeter
A scale on the dial of a chronograph that allows the wearer to calculate speed based on time and distance, typically by measuring how many seconds it takes to travel a fixed distance (e.g., 1000 meters).
Mechanique Chronograph
A chronograph watch powered by mechanical (hand-winding) movement, combining both timekeeping and the ability to measure elapsed time with a stopwatch function.
The Venus 175 is the base model of a family of column wheel chronograph movements. Launched in 1942, was substantially modified in 1949 and retired at about 1960. Cal. 175 can feature a 30 or 45 minute chronograph counter at 3:00.
